To celebrate the release of the brand new PhotoReflect (in September of 2009), all PhotoReflect users had the opportunity to purchase Core 9.0 at a reduced price. In addition, Core and Pro edition users were offered an upgrade price reduction. This was exclusively offered as a reward/in partnership to PhotoReflect members and was not made available to the public.

ExpressDigital issued a press release announcing to the professional photographer of a deep concern over the state of the economy and its impact to the photography industry. DARKROOM was, as part of this announcement, offered at a significant price reduction as an instant rebate through the authorized dealers. ExpressDigital CEO was quoted to say, "We know that with our product you will see your revenues jump and your business operations improved, however, we did not want price to be the biggest factor in your decision."

During the 2009 photography-industry tradeshow season ExpressDigital offered a manufacturer mail-in rebate. Terms and conditions were displayed on the rebate card. There were a variety of show-specific rebate cards.

If you had purchased DARKROOM Pro Edition before the date implicitly detailed on the rebate form, from an authorized dealer, you have 60 days after the purchase to submit the card per the instructions included. If you do not have a special rebate card you are not eligible for the rebate. If you purchased software from ExpressDigital directly, you are not eligible for the rebate.

If you had purchased DARKROOM with the Anytime Access support plan you were entitled to download a gift rebate form. Your choice was between a PhotoFlex Chroma Key  (greenscreen) Background, a Crumpler Backpack and a Sunbounce Frame Reflector.

Purchases had to be made and rebate forms mailed in by the explicit deadline.
