We all know how hectic the holiday season can get, so now the perfect time to be a good boy/girl scout and make sure you have all your ducks in a row.

Murphy’s law says what can go wrong will go wrong. You can help prevent catastrophe by having a backup plan for every possibility. This may mean having a backup printer, camera, computer, cables, etc. Although this may just be insurance for 99% of your jobs, the 1% of the time that it saves you, it will totally be worth it!

Make sure you are stocked up on paper and media. We know that during this time of the year shipping companies run into delays due to weather. It is always better to have extra media than not enough. Also, it’s a good idea to keep your stock organized. You don’t want to show up for an event with 6×8 media instead of 4×6 because you put it in the wrong box.

As for Darkroom, I suggest you learn your software inside and out. Both Darkroom Core and Booth have a bunch of options so it’s important to learn and test each option before you use it, out in the field. Be sure to visit DarkroomSupport.com to learn more or just to be inspired. Once again, any time you add a new option be sure to test it thoroughly. I would love to be the guy that inspired you, rather than the guy responsible for a mishap. ?

I’m not trying to be a negative Nancy or over-cautious Carl, I just prefer you learn from mistakes I’ve made in the past and have a joyful and profitable holiday season!
