DARKROOM
Assembly Edition and Professional Edition (versions 8.8 and above)
support both serial port and USB bar code scanners.
You can use almost any serial port bar code scanner as long at it reads
Code 3 of 9 and has a built-in decoder. If your computer or laptop does
not have a serial port (but does have USB), you can purchase
a serial-to-USB port adapter.
Any USB bar code scanner which can emulate a keyboard and allows
programming to specify prefix/suffix characters can be used. For
USB barcode scanners only, you will need to program the scanner to add
a prefix character ASCII 02H (STX), and to add a suffix character
ASCII 0DH (CR).

Supported Operating Systems
The following is a list of operating systems supported by ExpressDigital software.
Windows Vista
Windows XP Pro
Windows 200
Operating Systems NOT Supported The
following is a list of operating systems that are NOT supported by
ExpressDigital software. Also included are more details per specific
operating system.
Apple Boot Camp
Apple Boot Camp lets you install Windows XP without moving your Mac
data, though you will need to bring your own copy of XP to the table,
as Apple Computer does not sell or support Microsoft Windows. See the
Apple link below for additional system and hardware requirements.
ExpressDigital has not officially named it as a supported operating system nor will Customer
Care provide support for Boot Camp. However, in our
preliminary testing of major functionality of DARKROOM v8.7, we
discovered no issues in running ExpressDigital software with XP Pro
using Boot Camp.
