Limits of free email providers

If you are planning to take advantage of Darkroom photo email feature at your next event some research and planning will make that event go much smoother. The number of emails and the size of attachments you are allowed to send can vary especially with the free providers like Gmail or Hotmail. These limits can be per hour or per day and can also include limits on attachment size. Below is a list of popular free email services, their limits and a link to their policy pages.  At the bottom are a couple of paid services that can be unlimited.

Google Gmail Email Sending Limit

  • 500 emails per day when sending from their web interface
  • 100 emails per day when sending from a desktop email client like Darkroom
  • 10mb per message
